How our government works.

The two houses

The two houses

The Rainbow Republic Government consists of two houses, the Assembly - consisting of 1 seat for every 1000 citizens, and the President's Collective - consisting of 8 seats, distributed based of the final run-off for the presidential election, selected by the 2 running candidates.

Voting for representation

Voting for representation

Votes for the Assembly are conducted every 3 years, and votes for the president are conducted every 6 years. All citizens can vote online, and seats are distributed proportionate to votes.

Passing laws

If more than 50% of the Assembly agree on a legislation, it will be handed off to the President's Collective where if more than 50% of representatives agree, the law will be passed.

Referendums

Laws are able to bypass the Assembly and get sent straight to the President's Collective if more than 50% of citizens approve a referendum for the law.

Recalls

The Assembly or a referendum are able to recall the President if at least 80% of the Assembly or referendum agrees, only when this sample is larger than 10,000.
